A car lost control and crashed into Buddy Brew’s flagship cafe on Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa on Dec. 8, at around 7 p.m. The store had closed for the evening and there were two employees still inside, but no one was hurt. The driver also was reportedly not seriously hurt. Employees worked hard to clean up the mess, and early the next morning, Buddy Brew’s Brew Truck was on hand to serve coffee to its regular customers while the building was assessed for damage. Later that day, with plywood covering the broken window, the cafe was back in business. "The best news of all is that, really, there was no injury,” said Buddy Brew Co-founder Dave Ward. “That’s the biggest gift of all.” The Kennedy Boulevard store opened around 12 years ago, as Buddy Brew’s first of eight cafe locations.
