Buddy Brew Coffee expands to University of South Florida
Cafe opens Aug. 21 at Judy Genshaft Honors College; Bulls Blend Unveiled
On Aug. 21, students, faculty, staff and friends are invited to stop by for a free cup of brewed coffee all day. At 10 a.m., Buddy, the golden labrador who inspired the brand, will be making an appearance, along with USF’s Rocky the Bull mascot and other special guests. Free brewed coffee will be offered on opening day, and all week, Aug. 21 – 25.
Bulls Blend, a proprietary roast created by Buddy Brew in collaboration with USF, will be brewed and served daily at the café. This special coffee will also be available for purchase as whole bean or ground coffee. It is a blend of single-origin specialty coffees ethically sourced from small farms in El Salvador and Ethiopia. It is bold, smooth and satisfying, with hints of dark chocolate, sweet cherries and toasted walnuts.
“We are thrilled to be opening a welcoming space for the USF community to gather, collaborate and recharge,” said Dave Ward, co-founder/owner, Buddy Brew Coffee. “It’s an honor to be partnering with USF Dining, and to open a cafe in this beautiful new building made possible by Dr. Genshaft. We can’t wait to serve USF’s spectacular students, faculty and staff.”
Buddy Brew will offer its signature specialty coffee beverages, teas, sparklers and house-baked pastries, as well as a full breakfast and lunch menu, with popular items like avocado toast with poached egg and chili oil, among other favorites.

Buddy Brew’s BOLT Cold Brew in Nitro and Original, will be on tap. BOLT will also be offered in a refrigerated case to grab and go. A merchandise wall will offer a rotating selection of coffee brewers, Buddy Brew apparel, co-branded USF/Buddy Brew drinkware and whole bean coffee. The café will accept USF Dining Dollars in addition to cash, debit and credit. Guests can order ahead on Buddy Brew's USF locations page.
